Powersuit Revamp

Vintage YSL Blazer via The Bargain District / Target Basic Tee / Vintage Levi's Cutoffs / Tibi Slingbacks (similar) / Outlette Necklace and Rings 

Revamp your 80s power suit. This vintage YSL blazer caught my eye immediately with its boxy shape, pinstripe, and pristine tailoring. But when working it into an outfit, I had to take extra care to keep it from looking dated. I tamed the shoulderpad-bearing jacket by pairing it with a simple, white tee and vintage Levi's cutoffs. The more casual vibe of the top and shorts modernize the blazer while letting it be the focal point of the outfit. Pair the whole look with a simple sneaker or fun heel for a more streetstyle look. Belt It

When in doubt, belt it. Seen all over the runways and streets, belting just about everything is back in action. High-waisted pants, blazers, cardigans, the belt is adding shape in unexpected places. I decided to throw one on my favorite poncho! It's still a bit oversized and cozy but also adds silhouette and texture. My key tip is to make sure your belt is thicker or detailed with braiding/studs to make it work. Shop my full look above and happy belting!

Business Casual

Ever since Isabel Marant brought sweatpants "back", I've been wanting to incorporate them into my everyday wardrobe. With the recent revival of menswear and normcore, three's company to create my ideal look. By pairing an oversized but structured blazer and basic white tee with my favorite sweatpant/converse combo, I was able to create a perfect "business casual" look, if you will. The key is the keep it simple and tonal, juxtapose shapes to keep it from being too lumpy, and make sure your sweatpants have a nice cuff, too :) Check out some of my favorite options above to work sweats into your look outside the house.

I love me some overalls. From early workwear to 70s hippie to 90s grunge, they've been around, each time with a bit of tweak in style. Today, combining different shapes, washes, and details have made their comeback that much better. This pair by Blank NYC is one of my favorites. I love to style them either very minimal with a button down or fitted tee, or like above, a bit more cozy, layered, and fall-inspired. No matter which way your look goes, overalls should be on the top of your fall essentials.

J'aime la vie. I love life. In honor of Paris Fashion Week, I found it fitting to highlight this French phrase that packs a punch. No matter what life swings at me, fashion always brings me back to being me. There's something about going out on a limb and pushing your style to the limits that puts a pep in your step.

This was one of my favorite looks I put together during NYFW: a sporty crop top, classic blazer, "mom" jeans, pop color shoes, and the J'aime la vie clutch. It was just the outfit that gave me that "I love life" fashion feel. It's a conglomeration of many different styles but results in a cool and fun streetstyle look. White Suit Whip

One of my favorite things about vintage and thrift is the ability to find clothes that are beautifully constructed out of the best fabrics (designer or not) at a fraction of the price. Whether I'm shopping new or old, the material and construction are some key decision makers for me. If it doesn't feel, fit, stretch the way you want then it's not worth it!

During my last venture to the Hamptons, I found this linen MaxMara blazer at Collette Consignment for $100! The linen is so soft, and I love the slouchiness of the fit. A timeless summer piece, this blazer takes me everywhere from this white suit getup to my favorite cutoffs. Summer isn't over yet so keep those whites, linens, and silkies nearby! And always remember, when in doubt, all white keeps you minimal, chic, and flawless.

A Little Up, A Little Down

I might be beating a dead horse, but I can never get enough of mixing up my style. I can go full tomboy and full girly, but my favorite place is somewhere in the middle. A little uptown-- pleated "school girlish" skirt and sexy, sky-high pointed pump paired with a little downtown-- oversized, graphic tee and heavy metal watch. The perfect middle ground. Try pairing one of your more casual tops with elevated bottoms or vice versa for a nice mix of girly/tomboy, uptown/downtown.
