Continuing with this week's "white with black" theme, I decided to break out these amazing button front overalls from Zara. The great shape (dropcrotch anyone?) and little details set these overalls apart from the rest. Keeping things chic, I added my favorite vintage camisole for some clean contrast. This look would be great with a mule or a strappy sandal but I decided to mix things up by adding these sporty slides by Adidas. A Softer Side

You may not have guessed that there’s a softer side to overalls, but I’m here to tell you there is! While sometimes my styling airs more towards a tomboy personality, there are flecks of femininity that I love to play up on occasion. Taking overalls and turning them into a surprisingly girly look is just the thing. By pairing this delicate “lacey” white top and sky high 70s platforms, a new element is brought to the overall: a sweeter side with a touch of vintage flair.  Shop the links above to bring a dash of girl to your overalls!

Overall Update

Many people have a love/hate relationship with overalls; but for me, it's all L.O.V.E.  A classic revival that continues to evolve each time it creeps back and throughout the time it sticks around. If you are an a fan, mix up your typical overall look by wearing a sweater on top! A little cropped and boxy is best so you get just that peek of the bib. A bit of a roll on the bottom, white socks, and menswear inspired booties, give you a fun, streetstyle look!

I love me some overalls. From early workwear to 70s hippie to 90s grunge, they've been around, each time with a bit of tweak in style. Today, combining different shapes, washes, and details have made their comeback that much better. This pair by Blank NYC is one of my favorites. I love to style them either very minimal with a button down or fitted tee, or like above, a bit more cozy, layered, and fall-inspired. No matter which way your look goes, overalls should be on the top of your fall essentials.

Forever 21 Button Down / Blank Denim Overalls / Tibi Mules / Vintage and Urban Outfitters Rings

The onesie trend continues but in overall form. While overalls may bring back memories of sandboxes and Tonka trucks, you can style them in an updated fashion. I love to style mine with a crop top, striped tee, lace top, or button down like above. Pairing them with a fun heel or quirky sneaker elevates the outfit from turning too kiddy or farmhand. I'm not going to go on my usual rant about how anyone can wear them as they flatter more straight and boyish body types, but that doesn't mean you can't try them on!
