Suncoo Shirtdress and Shoes / Milly Tank / Aeron Pants and Bag / Madewell Earrings

The day before the start of NYFW I left a press appointment where the conversation had been centered around the lack of originality in New York street style. Needless to say I went into the week feeling inspired to mix it up. A "why not?" attitude, if you will. Why not open up a floral shirtdress and pair it with orange leather pants and metallic sneakers? Why not add a western belt and structural accessories? Each piece unique and radically different from the next but somehow when paired together worked in some crazy, NYFW street style , mash-up kind of way. Shop the links above to get the look and stay tuned for more of my favorite looks from fashion week.

In these past few months shirting has become a huge topic of conversation. After brands like Rosie Assoulin and Jacquemus reinvented "the shirt", each brand has been searching for how diversify the classic silhouette that has filled womens' closets for decades. Off the shoulder, added straps, asymmetrical, the list goes on. I loved the button down back on this Won Hundred shirt that allows me to add as much breathability (and sex appeal) as I like. Talk about business in the front, party in the back. I paired my oversized shirt with breezy stripe culottes, simple oxfords, and a pop of color clutch. Shop the links above to get my full look and below for more of my favorite shirting!

Marques Almeida Blouse / Citizens of Humanity Pant / Point Toe Mule / Oliveve Clutch /Shahla Karimi Hoops / Layering Rings

Hi there! It's a been quite some time... trust me I know, but I hope you've been able to to bear with me and have continued to follow me on instagram during my blogging hiatus. The styling world can suck you in and in lieu of attempting to keep myself balanced and average a bit more than 3 hours of sleep per night, I set blogging aside for a moment. BUT I'm happy to share that I am back and ready to share more looks, styling tips, and vintage inspirations so stay tuned for more goodness :)

I wore this during NYFW last year and it is one of my favorite looks to date. The drop crotch lightweight pant, point toe mule, textured clutch, and last but not least, the most epic raw edge ruffle denim blouse. Together, it's effortlessly chic and foolproof no matter the season.

Jill Stuart Tunic / Veda Dress / Diesel Jacket / Sigerson Morrison Boots / A Peace Treaty Choker

I'm always looking for new ways to layer. With trends moving away from the "streetstyle" we all expect and towards a chicer more minimal air, it's forcing us to take something very simple and make it our own. Insert an experimental play with layering. I added a straight-line leather tunic over this breezy crepe dress. The lines still maintain that minimal feel but the different structure and materials begin that "making it my own" element. I added some fun fringe boots, gold detail choker, and slouchy boyfriend jacket to give it an easier, rocker feel that ultimately feels like me :)

Won Hundred Coat, Shirt (or here), Pant / Grenson Oxford / Cambridge Satchel Bag

I think I've always had a little tomboy in me since age 6 (envision oversized tshirts, soccer shorts, and Adidas slides). So it comes as no surprise that ever since menswears became a thing, I've been drawn to it. The comfort and ease contrasted with strong design and attention to detail makes for a perfect dressing equation. I mixed women's and men's pieces from Won Hundred to create this "borrowed from the boys" NYFW look. And you can't truly have that menswear look without an impeccably structured bag. I found my closet lacking that perfect black bag and Cambridge Satchel came to the rescue with customization that aired on Vuitton rather than Pulitzer (thank god).

Last but not least, I wouldn't be the menswear-loving shoe whore I am without having an affair with a Brit shoe brand whose roots date back to 1866. UK original, Grenson, has been a long time favorite of mine, crafting the most beautiful leather shoes (with amazing platforms I might add) for 150 years. I was able to get a first hand look at their first overseas shop that's nestled on one of my favorite streets in one of the best neighborhoods in NYC, Elizabeth Street, SoHo. The shop's pristine architecture and design mirrors its product in the most fitting way. Sleek wood panels, industrial notes, and a smoky but beautiful scent welcomes you into a room full of hand-crafted oxfords, loafers, and boots. Need I say more? Click here to see more on the shop and click the links above to get my menswear inspired look!

Ganni Bomber and Blouse / Awoke Vintage Leather Dress (similar or here) / Falke Tights / Miista Boots / Aldo Backpack / Alibi Earring / Pared Sunnies

The Outfit.
Still sifting thru photos of copious street style outfits as Paris Fashion Week slowly comes to a close.... Though I didn't make it this year to that beautiful city, I still managed to have a bit of fun with my looks during NYFW. This one included. Famous for their reworked leather, Awoke Vintage churned out this leather "overall dress" that was basically needs to worn immediately by Alexa Chung. (Am I right?!) Needless to say, I knew I needed it the moment I saw it. But what to pair with it? A stray away from the typical neutral, I played with patterns in my favorite color (besides black, white, grey and beige of course), blue. A thin striped blouse against a shiny, silky, floral printed bomber were just the additions that this dress needed to be taken to the next level.

The Shoe.
Nothing goes with a mini more than pointy-ass boots. These things are leathal and lovely. The pebbled and somewhat metallic nature on these Miista booties are everything I'm looking for in a cool shoe that takes you thru every season seamlessly. Leg-elongating, man-repelling, and easy on the eyes? I'll take 'em.

The Bag.
While we like to look at most FW images and think that the fashionistas are running thru these crazy days with nothing more than a matchbox sized clutch.... don't forget their Escalades parked around the corner holding the contents of the rest of their purses. For us NY ladies who don't have the luxury and/or who value the (usual) timeliness and savings of the Subway, we get resourceful with our carryalls. Insert, the backpack. While I love a good old school Jansport, the backpack made a comeback in the streetstyle scene a few years ago in a much chicer and elevated form. I love how this Aldo one is super structured, minimal, and black of course. I can virtually wear it with anything and it fits just about everything from an extra pair of sneaks to dry shampoo.

The Accessories.
Last but not least, those little pieces that add the perfect final touch. I typically neglect the jewelry area as a bit of minimalist but these earrings could not not be worn. They're the kind of earring that you wear while Stairway to Heaven plays in the background of your entrance. And paired with some wild cheetah, flat-top sunnies, I was airing on the edge of feeling like a total rockstar.

Welp. I just gave you my life story into that look. It was a favorite and I hope you enjoyed it, too :) Shop the links til you drop, ladies. Shop til you drop.

Rodebjer Jacket & Pants / Awoke Vintage Mockneck (similar) / Matt Bernson Flats / Zac Zac Posen Bag (or here)/ Super Sunglasses / Alibi Ear Chain

After discovering Rodebjer during my time at Shopbop, I've been head over heels in love with the brand. Ever-evolving but rooted in it's ease and leisure, designer Carin Rodebjer has beautifully crafted a modern line with silhouettes that women want to wear everyday.

A sucker for breezy pants, I was immediately drawn to these trousers with a springy but not overly floral print. I contrasted the slinky quality of the trousers by pairing them with a structured topper and turtleneck with metallic sheen. Keeping that minimalist but quirky feel, I accessorized the look with stark-white flats, mirrored sunnies, geometric crossbody and a sleek chain earring. Shop the links above and click HERE for a closer look at Rodebjer.

Amarcord Vintage Issey Miyake Jacket (similar) / coming soon Apiece Apart Dress (similar) / Freda Salvatore Boots / Clare V. Clutch /
Garrett Leight Sunnies

...Having this out of body experience as I write this post after immediately arriving back from sunny San Diego!! Regardless, I wanted you guys to get a closer look at ALL of my NYFW looks, even if a bit late! The amazing Veronica from Amarcord pointed out The Revenant nature of this Issey Miyake coat...making it that much better, I might add! The oversized quality, the contrast of the fur and the corduroy, the zipper detail, the list goes on! I paired the Leo-inspired coat (congrats Leo) over a midi-length, ribbed, knit dress.... you know my obsession with knit so that's that. Finishing touches include more texture contrasts but tonal color palette. Snakeskin chelsea boots are my new "go-to" and a leather statement clutch from favorite, Clare V. Shop the links above to get the look and stay tuned this week for the rest of my NYFW looks... I promise!

Amarcord Vintage Jacket and Purse (similar or here) / Awoke Vintage Leather Jacket / Ganni Shirt & Pants coming soon / Jeffrey Campbell Shoes (similar) / Super x Marques Almeida Sunnies / Snash Earrings

One of my favorite looks from NYFW, I decided to deem this one "Ricky Bobby". The red stripe..the leather jacket...I couldn't resist. Sporty meets Rocker (my two favorites). I paired this top and bottom combo from Ganni (coming soon!) with an amazing reconstructed, red leather jacket from vintage favorite, Awoke Vintage. Top it off with this epic deconstructed tweed jacket with fringe, stripe, and pins. I mean does it get more 90s than that? Finishing touches came with a calfhair & studded detail leather messenger (also from my <3 Amarcord Vintage), lightening bolt earrings, and some schmancy white and silver loafers. Shake. And Bake.

The Kooples Blouse & Jacket (coming soon AW16) / DL1961 Denim / Steve Madden Shoes / Dannijo Choker

Dudes. Sorry for the hiatus. Needless to say juggling styling, blogging, NYFW, and social media can get a bit time consuming!! I'm so excited to be back to share my favorite fashion week looks and trends I'm pumped about for Fall 2016.

I always find (especially during February FW) that the coat and shoe are the makers or breakers of the look. My failproof pieces for an elevated OOTD (and with some added Kate Moss vibes) are point toe lace ups and a fur topper. I'm a sucker for point toe in general as it tends to lengthen the leg and the lace up detail adds that extra sex appeal. Everyone has an opinion so no matter which (faux) fur you prefer, it can take virtually any outfit and turn it into something amazing. Silky detailed blouse by current favorite, The Kooples, highwaisted skinnies, and a sick choker finish off a chic monochrome look. And what's more New York fashion than all black? Click HERE for more on this look and a NYFW diary in collaboration with Steve Madden!

Adidas Tee / True Royal Pants / Rodebjer Sneakers / Slate Rings via Rocksbock

We all know I love to mix a little uptown with a little downtown. So when I spotted these gold pants, I instantly thought of my adidas tee. It adds a nice contrast to dress down the pants and these amazing sneakers add just the perfect bit of fun to it all. This was one of my favorite streestyle looks from NY fashion week and I hope you enjoy it too! Shop the links to get the look!

Diesel Black Gold Dress (similar) / DKNY Platforms / Matt Bernson Bag / Sunday Somewhere Sunnies / Pamela Love Earring and Ring / Snash Ring / Awoke Vintage Layering Rings / Outlette Ring

After collaborating with the lovely ladies of Diesel Black Gold for my beachy denim shoot, I was thrilled to be able to experience the new collection in person at their Spring/Summer 2016 presentation. Located in an amazingly raw and deconstructed building in the heart of the Financial District, it set the perfect backdrop for a runway full of leather, patchwork, and badass vibes. The collection was said to be inspired by a woman wearing a man’s shirt as a dress… sign me up! Tomboy vibes with an edge of sex appeal. Deep side parts, slicked hair, smokey eyes, and strong walks, the models were the cherry on top of that rocker chic sundae. I included some shots of my look before the show, inside the venue, and a link below to a great video compilation of the catwalk. Enjoy!

J'aime la vie. I love life. In honor of Paris Fashion Week, I found it fitting to highlight this French phrase that packs a punch. No matter what life swings at me, fashion always brings me back to being me. There's something about going out on a limb and pushing your style to the limits that puts a pep in your step.

This was one of my favorite looks I put together during NYFW: a sporty crop top, classic blazer, "mom" jeans, pop color shoes, and the J'aime la vie clutch. It was just the outfit that gave me that "I love life" fashion feel. It's a conglomeration of many different styles but results in a cool and fun streetstyle look. Check out the links above to shop the look and me jamming in this outfit HERE.
