Won Hundred Coat, Shirt (or here), Pant / Grenson Oxford / Cambridge Satchel Bag

I think I've always had a little tomboy in me since age 6 (envision oversized tshirts, soccer shorts, and Adidas slides). So it comes as no surprise that ever since menswears became a thing, I've been drawn to it. The comfort and ease contrasted with strong design and attention to detail makes for a perfect dressing equation. I mixed women's and men's pieces from Won Hundred to create this "borrowed from the boys" NYFW look. And you can't truly have that menswear look without an impeccably structured bag. I found my closet lacking that perfect black bag and Cambridge Satchel came to the rescue with customization that aired on Vuitton rather than Pulitzer (thank god).

Last but not least, I wouldn't be the menswear-loving shoe whore I am without having an affair with a Brit shoe brand whose roots date back to 1866. UK original, Grenson, has been a long time favorite of mine, crafting the most beautiful leather shoes (with amazing platforms I might add) for 150 years. I was able to get a first hand look at their first overseas shop that's nestled on one of my favorite streets in one of the best neighborhoods in NYC, Elizabeth Street, SoHo. The shop's pristine architecture and design mirrors its product in the most fitting way. Sleek wood panels, industrial notes, and a smoky but beautiful scent welcomes you into a room full of hand-crafted oxfords, loafers, and boots. Need I say more? Click here to see more on the shop and click the links above to get my menswear inspired look!

VEDA Leather Jacket / Maison Scotch Button Down / FRAME Boyfriend Jeans / Hudson Boots / Awoke Vintage Layering Rings

Feeling inspired while visiting London (one of the first cities that sparked an exploration into my personal style), I harnessed my inner tomboy with flecks of British rock and roll to create this look. Classic striped buttondown loosely tucked into supersoft and baggy boyfriend jeans start an outfit that's effortless and comfy. A bit of sex and rock&roll is added in with a leather moto jacket, snakeskin boots, and peek of black bralette. The combination gives you that “cool London girl look” that can take you from a day shopping on Oxford Street to an epic evening at Sketch. Shop the links above and stay tuned for more of my favorites from London and my other #avveurotrip cities :)

Mens American Rag Buttondown / BDG Highrise Cutoffs / Grenson Loafers / Patricia Fields Sunnies / The Shopping Bag Ace of Spades Clutch and Wishbone Necklace

I wouldn't call myself an "accessories girl" (maybe a shoe girl) but once a while I find some perfect pieces that add that special touch to my look. In true tomboy form, I stole this shirt out of my boyfriend's closet and paired it with a slim pair of black cutoffs (that slightly resemble bike shorts but let's not get ahead of ourselves here...that's next's week's post). I took this simple outfit combo and added those "special touches" with this Ace of Spades clutch and wishbone necklace. The simple gold necklace is a perfect everyday jewelry piece and the clutch adds a bit of streetstyle playfulness to the overall look. Check out the links above to get each piece and use AVINTAGEVICE at The Shopping Bag for 25% off your order!

J. Crew Sweater (similar) and Pumps (similar)/ Tobi Shorts / Brixton Cap

Boy meets girl. It so accurately describes a lot of what I wear. I love to contrast some element of the outfit so I don't full girl or full boy. This bouncy knit paired with tiny printed shorts start you off with a playful vibe. Add patent, bright blue pumps and you're almost at full girl when  you switch it up with the perfect "denim" cap. Loved the hipster, boy element of this hat by one of my new favorite hatmakers, Brixton. Shop the links above to get your perfect "boy meets girl" look.

#LiveInLevis

L Train Vintage Levi's Buttondown and Cutoffs / Converse / Wanderlust & Co, Outlette, Handmade, and Vintage Rings

My true love for vintage started with my first pair of vintage Levi's cutoffs. I still have them and wear them even though they're half falling apart out of sheer love and nostalgia. So needless to say, there has always been a special place in my heart for Levi's! Here I decided to pay a special tribute to Levi's and my tomboy side while exploring Astoria, Queens. These cutoffs are a bit oversized so I switched things up by only keeping the top button secured. It adds a bit of surprise and sex appeal to what would've been as I like to call, "a full on boy outfit"! Happy exploring with #LiveInLevis!

Vintage Coat / Design History Turtleneck (similar) / Zara Trousers / Supergas / Beret

My color palette tends to sku towards neutrals and black, but there's something about when fashion week rolls around that pushes me to color outside the lines (pun intended). Here I decided to play on colorblocking with a French tomboy charm.

Recognize the coat? It's from my very first post on A Vintage Vice and one of my favorite pieces from my grandmother's closet circa 1950. The oversized and structural quality allows me to play with proportions. This vibrant and cropped green sweater, tapered black trouser, and platform white sneaks complete the look and achieve the contrast of proportions and colors with a dash of tomboy.

A Little Up, A Little Down

H&M tee (similar) / SEA skirt (similar) / ZARA pumps/ Fossil watch (similar) / Vintage bracelets

I might be beating a dead horse, but I can never get enough of mixing up my style. I can go full tomboy and full girly, but my favorite place is somewhere in the middle. A little uptown-- pleated "school girlish" skirt and sexy, sky-high pointed pump paired with a little downtown-- oversized, graphic tee and heavy metal watch. The perfect middle ground. Try pairing one of your more casual tops with elevated bottoms or vice versa for a nice mix of girly/tomboy, uptown/downtown.

Shop The Similars: Vintage Mens Button Down / Forever 21 Denim Vest / Anthropologie Pants / Prabal Gurung for Target Heels / Forever 21 Cuff / Vintage, Handmade, and UO Rings

I'm not gonna lie... I originally got this button down at Goodwill to wear for Halloween dressed as the typical "Risky Business" character. But as it hung in my closet, I wanted to challenge myself to somehow incorporate it into my actual wardrobe. On the hanger, it looks like a sack of potatoes. But add a cool denim vest and you've made it a step closer to that casual, French, tomboy kinda feel. You can pair this shirt/vest combo more simply with a great pair of black skinnies. Or have a bit of fun with it and wear a patterned pant and colored heel, channeling your inner fashionista. No matter which way you wear it, you'll be the envy on the street. TGIF.
