Living Doll Top / Ellison Jacket or here / Zara Shorts / Stuart Weitzman Boots / Francescas Bag or here / Gorjana Necklace / Jules Smith Choker / Handmade Ring

Like I spoke to in my last post, I've been challenging myself to create outfits starting with one key piece. Today's was this clean and simple buttondown by Living Doll LA. I typically would reach for my black highwaisted skinnies to pair it with, but I decided to switch things up and grabbed my leather shorts. Added my new favorite OTK boots, a little fur, chains, and metal details, and it was a done deal! Shop it out above to get a bit of downtown chic.

Shareen Vintage Dress / Prabal Gurung for Target Sandals

Throw on some Frank Sinatra and I'm ready to be in full swing. I loved the very 20s silhouette of this dress with the drop waist and the pleated skirt. I'm a sucker for a shifty "sack dress" if you will, and the little details and impeccable tailoring made it that much better. A great vintage look to take you from work to your favorite speakeasy on the LES.

Discovering the LES

One of my favorite parts of friends coming to visit is the excuse to explore new things you usually don't make time for and also the chance to show off the best parts of NYC (which doesn't include Times Square). The Lower East Side (LES) is one of my recent favorites! Full of amazing shops, restaurants, and art, LES is a cultural haven and great spot for people watching, too ;) This past weekend my hometown friend and I explored the LES on a beautiful and sunny Saturday. We started at the Hester Street Fair. With a similar nod to the Brooklyn Flea, it had some wonderful pop-up vintage boutiques and mini eateries. We next traveled up and stopped into a few different consignment and vintage shops, namely Edith Machinist, known for its epic, vintage accessories. Our last stop was farther up into the East Village for a late lunch. Veselka (namely visited in Gossip Girl) , is a Ukrainian restaurant known for its pierogies. Most unique and delicious food I've had in a while! Check out the links above and the clip/photos below and venture to the Lower East Side on your next visit!
