70s Forever

Ever since I discovered some of my mom’s handknit sweaters from the 70s, the era has forever been present (visible or not) in my style and part of my personality. I love the carefree vibes of the flower child decade. Zero product, wavy hair, center parts, minimal makeup, floaty tops, and the highest platforms you can find. Easy and sexy, you can take the 70s full on or pared back. I reeled in the hippiness a bit in my look today by adding a pair of denim cutoffs to my sky-high platforms and balloon sleeve, embroidered top. Still highwaisted and Levi’s of course, the shorts nod to the 70s without taking it costumey. My favorite part of this outfit: the most amazing fanny pack. Tiny and perfect, this saddle brown belt with a little pouch big enough for your chapstick (#practical) finishes it off with just the right amount of leather. Sunshine Streetstyle

Spring sunshine is trickling in! For a while, I've been ready to ditch the overcoat and throw on some shorts. Needless to say, I went in head first on a cold but sunny day, turning shocked heads while shooting #sorrynotsorry. I paired one of my favorite (and softest) vintage tees with some perfect paperbag-waist leather shorts and hightops for a very streetstyle vibe. Layer on the bracelets to complete the look and you're ready for a day, as I like to say, bopping around the city. TGI(almost)F! Goodwill Hunting

Goodwill Faux Vest (similar) / DKNY Leather Jacket / Asos Tee / A Gold E Skinnies / Asos Boots (similar)/ BumCake Vintage Choker (similar)

Goodwill has gradually become one of my favorite thrift/vintage stores that exists nationwide. In college, it was the home of many "date party" outfits with taffeta and sequins galore. Towards the end of my term, I started reworking its denim into awesome cutoffs. As the years go by, I find myself discovering gems in the back corner of what I used to think only housed tacky outfits. This vest= case in point. Approximately $15, faux, but it pretty good shape! Hands down one of my favorite finds from Goodwill, I love pulling it out of my winter wardrobe. Here, I bumped up this all black look by adding the vest on top. Wearing it over a leather jacket ups the cool factor and keeps you warm while your at it. Moral of the story is to go to your local Goodwill. You never know what you might find!

A Little Downtown Chic

Like I spoke to in my last post, I've been challenging myself to create outfits starting with one key piece. Today's was this clean and simple buttondown by Living Doll LA. I typically would reach for my black highwaisted skinnies to pair it with, but I decided to switch things up and grabbed my leather shorts. Added my new favorite OTK boots, a little fur, chains, and metal details, and it was a done deal! Shop it out above to get a bit of downtown chic.

Disproportions

We all know I love and good crop top and some leather. The problem for most is putting the two together while still leaving room for a little imagination. What I loved about VEDA's resort collection was how the pieces were structural yet sexy, how I was able to pair a bustier and all leather while still looking elevated. The change in seasons always has me looking for the perfect fall/winter coat. This Lafayette Jacket from VEDA had me completely hooked. Leather and shearling are among the top necessities and all the rage for your cold weather wardrobe. If you know me, I love anything oversized, so the shape and moto feel of this jacket (with the combintation of super soft leather/shearling) made it the total package.
