Vintage Coat (similar) / Consignment Top (similar) / J.Crew Jeans / 3.1 Phillip Lim Flats

If you've been with me from the beginning (or glanced at the "about" page), you know I have a knack for digging through family members' closet and finding some gems. This red coat happened to be one of the 6 pristine coats (circa 1950) that I found in the back of my grandmother's closet. In conjunction, vintage and consignment stores can often hold the best outerwear. Old people are not joking when they say, "They don't make 'em like they used to." The quality and construction allows coats to last for decades and get you through the worst winters. Pop into your mom or grandma's closet asap or around the corner for some good thrifting.

Call Me Sandy

American Apparel Crop Top / Vintage Bloomingdales Leather Pants (similar here or here) / Zara Pumps / Consignment Box Clutch / Vintage Rings

There's something about leather that instantly adds bit of coolness to any outfit. While I'm a firm believer in investing in leather pieces for your wardrobe, I found these leather trousers in perfect condition for a steal at my favorite consignment shop! I love that the shape is a bit different than your typical leather pant. The high waist, thick leather, and loose fit in the thigh make it fresh. I decided to add a bit of "Sandy" flair alla Grease by pairing a crop top and sky-high stilettos. A structured bag and a few rings keep it minimal and elevated. Take your Friday night to another level with this outfit tonight!

Discovering the LES

One of my favorite parts of friends coming to visit is the excuse to explore new things you usually don't make time for and also the chance to show off the best parts of NYC (which doesn't include Times Square). The Lower East Side (LES) is one of my recent favorites! Full of amazing shops, restaurants, and art, LES is a cultural haven and great spot for people watching, too ;) This past weekend my hometown friend and I explored the LES on a beautiful and sunny Saturday. We started at the Hester Street Fair. With a similar nod to the Brooklyn Flea, it had some wonderful pop-up vintage boutiques and mini eateries. We next traveled up and stopped into a few different consignment and vintage shops, namely Edith Machinist, known for its epic, vintage accessories. Our last stop was farther up into the East Village for a late lunch. Veselka (namely visited in Gossip Girl) , is a Ukrainian restaurant known for its pierogies. Most unique and delicious food I've had in a while! Check out the links above and the clip/photos below and venture to the Lower East Side on your next visit!
