The Bargain District Crochet Top / Victoria's Secret Bikini / Soludos Slides / Spitfire Sunnies

Most people have no clue that New York has beaches! And I don't know what I'd do without them! I grew up driving to NY every summer for a family reunion of sorts, and it always involved beaching and boating! Since age 6, the waters of Long Island have transformed from a playground to a place of tranquility. Now working in the city (and in the fashion industry no less), heading to my aunt's little house on the canal is truly my therapy. It's the perfect place to unwind and relax in the summer. You'll often find me there for an entire weekend, no makeup, tangled hair, swimsuit 24/7. There's something so carefree and easy about it all. Shop the links above to get your perfect "no-fuss-easy-beach" look.

Vintage Silk Top / Free People Crop Top / Zara Pants (similar) / Dolce Vita Platforms

Vuitton brought the PJ trend in 2013 with flying colors. While the trend has ebbed and flowed, I’m all about keeping it around. Not to mention the comfort factor but the silky materials drape amazingly against the body. While I would love to wear a full, slinky PJ set, I decided to add a bit of an update by keeping the shirt open for more of a “topper” feel contrasted against the tight croptop. Oversized puddle pants slung low on the hips keep the look current and sexy. Finish it off with tousled hair and natural but smoky makeup. Shop the links above to find your perfect PJ look.

Tori Praver Kalinda Top and High Waisted Bottoms (or here) / Vintage Clubmasters

Continuing with the lace up theme, I only found it fitting to follow my favorite bodysuit with my favorite bikini of the summer. Highwaisted and classic black, this suit has a bit of a retro, pinup feel to it. But once you look into the details, you see where she takes the suit from the 50s and makes its modern. The ribbed detailing of the material, the lace ups on the sides, and the slightly cheeky back add just the right amount of detail to make it a statement while still staying timeless.

I had a blast actually shooting this after a day of boating and clamming in Long Island with family and friends. You can always find more LI pics on my Instagram, too. Hope you enjoy :)

Reformation Bodysuit / Vintage Cutoffs / Zara Flatforms (similar) / Outlette Necklace / Gorjana Necklace via Rocksbox

My new favorite piece in my closet? The Avalon bodysuit from Reformation! I discovered this bodysuit a while ago but second guessed buying it. Then, of course, it was sold out for months. Got the back in stock email and immediately ordered. Best decision I’ve made in a while! First: the color. The yummiest, burnt orange I’ve been totally digging lately and a perfect match for my darker features. The ribbed material and super tight fit combined with the laceup details amp up the sex appeal about 10 notches. The 70s vibe that results in these amazing combinations is right up my alley and perfect for pairing with dark cutoffs and chunky flatforms. Shop my look above and seriously put yourself on the waitlist for this one.

Wilfred Maxi Dress (similar here or here) / Zara Oxford (similar) / Outlette Rings

Similar to rompers, the maxi dress can be the perfect all-in-one, go-to outfit. So many silhouettes to choose from, you can make a maxi dress fit for just about any occasion. This dress from Aritzia has the perfect "The Row" vibe at a fraction of the cost. Silky smooth material and oversized shape allows it to hang just perfectly on its own or makes it easy for belting. I paired mine with an unexpected, patent oxford to give it a quirky, fun, and at the same time, minimal look. What's your favorite maxi?

Vintage Camisole / Vintage Embroidered Levi's (similar) / Prabal Gurung Sandals / Arrow Necklace / Gorjana Necklace via Rocksbox

There's something so simple but amazingly chic about pairing black and denim. Maybe because they were some the first classics for your wardrobe, and despite the evolution of fashion, they have stood the test of time. The cuts, patterns, and silhouettes have changed thru the decades but each variation holds true in your closet.

I know you're shocked, but I often find my black and denim to have a bit of a 90s vibe to them. Absolutely fell in love with these vintage embroidered Levi's and vintage black camisole. Small details but overall simplicity lend these pieces to be great no matter what you pair them with. I added a lace up sandal to complete the look. Sexy but sophisticated, shop similar pieces above to get some great black and blue worked into your wardrobe.

Urban Outfitters Poncho,Top (similar), Sandals (similar) / Aritzia Talula Pants /  Arrow Necklace

As you can guess, I'm totally into this whole "canyon daze" trend that's happening for prefall. Ponchos, slouchy pants, and oversized sihlouettes have me in hog heaven. One of my favorite parts is that you can take this trend easily from summer into fall through different fabrics and textures. Since it's about 90 degrees and 100% humidity here in New York, I kept it light. A gauzy, linen top combined with cotton poncho and pants keep things breezy and still fulfill that amazing nomadic vibe. I finished the look with a clean pair of slides to keep it minimal and chic. Shop the links above to get the look and happy wandering :)

One Teaspoon Dress / American Apparel Bike Short / Metallic Supergas / Lisa Perry Clutch / Arrow Necklace / Wishbone Necklace

In true 90s baby form, I’m reviving the bike short. Virtually the greatest invention ever (and the latest wardrobe essential you never thought about), the bike short allows you to wear the shortest skirts/dresses and still live your life. AKA sitting in completely weird positions in my chair at work and also avoiding the creeps while walking up the subway staircase. But seriously. Today, I paired my bike shorts with this adorable denim dress by One Teaspoon. This easy summer dress is the perfect blank slate to take the look wherever you want it to go. I took mine a bit street style by adding gold sneakers and a literal statement clutch (hello!) Shop the links above to get my look and bring back your 90s bike short.

Mens American Rag Buttondown / BDG Highrise Cutoffs / Grenson Loafers / Patricia Fields Sunnies / The Shopping Bag Ace of Spades Clutch and Wishbone Necklace

I wouldn't call myself an "accessories girl" (maybe a shoe girl) but once a while I find some perfect pieces that add that special touch to my look. In true tomboy form, I stole this shirt out of my boyfriend's closet and paired it with a slim pair of black cutoffs (that slightly resemble bike shorts but let's not get ahead of ourselves here...that's next's week's post). I took this simple outfit combo and added those "special touches" with this Ace of Spades clutch and wishbone necklace. The simple gold necklace is a perfect everyday jewelry piece and the clutch adds a bit of streetstyle playfulness to the overall look. Check out the links above to get each piece and use AVINTAGEVICE at The Shopping Bag for 25% off your order!

Graham & Spencer Top / Vintage Levi Cutoffs / Madewell "Fanny Pack" / Topshop Platforms (similar) / Outlette Necklace / Wishbone Necklace

Ever since I discovered some of my mom’s handknit sweaters from the 70s, the era has forever been present (visible or not) in my style and part of my personality. I love the carefree vibes of the flower child decade. Zero product, wavy hair, center parts, minimal makeup, floaty tops, and the highest platforms you can find. Easy and sexy, you can take the 70s full on or pared back. I reeled in the hippiness a bit in my look today by adding a pair of denim cutoffs to my sky-high platforms and balloon sleeve, embroidered top. Still highwaisted and Levi’s of course, the shorts nod to the 70s without taking it costumey. My favorite part of this outfit: the most amazing fanny pack. Tiny and perfect, this saddle brown belt with a little pouch big enough for your chapstick (#practical) finishes it off with just the right amount of leather. Shop the links above to add some 70s love into your life.

J. Crew Sweater (similar) and Pumps (similar)/ Tobi Shorts / Brixton Cap

Boy meets girl. It so accurately describes a lot of what I wear. I love to contrast some element of the outfit so I don't full girl or full boy. This bouncy knit paired with tiny printed shorts start you off with a playful vibe. Add patent, bright blue pumps and you're almost at full girl when  you switch it up with the perfect "denim" cap. Loved the hipster, boy element of this hat by one of my new favorite hatmakers, Brixton. Shop the links above to get your perfect "boy meets girl" look.

There's something wonderfully refreshing about an all white, light, cotton outfit for summer. Easy and breezy, it keeps your look clean and keeps you cool. I took my all white in a slight 70s bohemian direction alla Isabel Marant. Adopting the off-the-shoulders that's everywhere lately and giving it a lace detail and bloused bottom immediately give off that perfect Jane Birkin vibe. Paired with an equally light cotton skirt (remember those Abercrombie days?), a perforated bootie, natural hair and skin, and you achieve a gorgeous summer look with a nod to the 70s. Shop the links above to get my look and similar options!

J.Crew Bomber Jacket (similar) and Shorts / Target Tee / Tibi Mules (similar) / Outlette Necklace and Rings  / Vintage Rings

Happy (almost) Fourth of July! The quintessential colors of the holiday are in constant rotation in my wardrobe (mostly blue and white with an occasional pop of red). These colors no matter how combined are classic, chic, and eternally in style. I went mostly white today with a dash of blue. Totally digging the sporty vibes coming out of J.Crew lately, I created a look that was basketball meets baseball meets tennis. Baseball striped jacket, clean white tee, slinky piped basketball shorts and a complete "tennis whites" feel. Elevated with a metallic blue mule, the outfit rounds out both sporty and chic. How do you wear your "Americana" colors?

WGACA Vintage Chloe Top (similar knit or similar pineapple) / Vintage Moschino Pants via The Bargain District (similar or similar or similar) / Madewell Sandals / Gorjana Bracelet and Sophie Harper Ring via Rocksbox / Outlette Necklace and Rings

With the Fourth of July approaching and just about every New Yorker heading to either the Hamptons or Montauk, I found it the perfect opportunity to highlight a look that will set you apart from the rest. One of my new favorite tops... maybe ever... is this vintage Chloe knit pineapple top. Island and vintage vibes make it a perfect choice for a hot summer day paired with denim cutoffs or overalls. I decided to chic it up a bit by adding these white, pinstripe Moschino trousers. A stiff material and oversized leg are a fresh take on the typical linen we adopt during the summer months. Keep a slouchy bottom by wearing them low rise with flat sandals. Shop similar links above and make a chic statement.
