I've worn the skirt with a little, black crop top and sky high sandals for a rehearsal dinner and here worn together but pared down with a classic, white sneaker. Quality separates are a necessity in every girl's wardrobe and a great fall back when worn together for a fool proof look. "As if!" The moment this outfit came to me, I was transported into Alicia Silverstone's movie Clueless circa 1995. The 90s have returned, and I'm fully digging it. Crop tops, mary janes, and high pony tails totally add some fun into your wardrobe! Don't be afraid to show your crop with a peek a skin, but of course in a tasteful way. If your not quite ready for that step, try your crop top with a high-waisted bottom (my go-to). Speaking of go-to's, I love exploring estate sales for vintage accessories like the ones in this outfit! I got this purse for $3 at one along with a cool, old-school PBR mug for $1. You never know what you will find. Now that the weather is getting warmer there will be more and more of them, so get on out there!

Outfit Deets:  Zara Crop Top / Zara Slip Dress (similar here) / Gap Jean Jacket / Zara Mary Janes

A few weeks ago, I channeled my inner Carrie Bradshaw and went to an art opening in the Meatpacking District. I'm no art expert, but I thoroughly enjoyed the Thrush Holmes exhibit. The colors and techniques were so fresh and unique, and I happened to slightly match the paintings to boot!

While my pieces here are not "truly vintage", this outfit was inspired by the 90s trend that was seen all over the runways for spring. Slip dresses and mary janes are where it was at.  I added a striped crop top, tied a jean jacket around my waist, and boom I'm feeling like I'm in Saved By The Bell.

Slip dresses can be tricky for certain body types, but you can make it work through how you style it. By breaking up the proportions with various layers and cinching at the waist, you are able to create different shapes and keep the outfit exciting.  I am also overly obsessed with these pink mary janes (tapping into that pastel trend I discussed last post), and they add some good elevation to the outfit.
