Match It Up

Tantuvi Top and Skirt / Tory Burch Wedges

The whole "matchy matchy" thing used to be such a "no no", but since it's return, it has become another (dare I say it) go-to outfit! High-waisted pants, skirts, shorts with a matching crop top never fails. It's classic and chic but can pop with the right color and print. I love this Tantuvi set-- such a unique pattern! The structural shape and heels keep it clean and pulled together. Shop this look on the new CREAM style app!

Ready. Set. Streetstyle.

Priory of Ten Dress / Surface to Air Wedges / Clare Vivier Clutch / Teenage Millionaire Hat

Thought this would be the perfect post while gearing up for NYFW! One of my features for the new CREAM style app, this outfit screams streetstyle. We all know I love mixing silhouettes and styles, so I loved pairing this sexier, black leather dress with a backwards hat and structural heels. A bit of the unexpected :)

I also wanted to introduce the new CREAM app! It allows you to shop bloggers and models' looks with a click of a button. Download it now on your smartphone and follow me on Instagram for fashion week coverage!

White Suit Whip

Vintage MaxMara Blazer / Forever 21 Top / Addison Shorts / Zara Sandals / Fossil Watch / Vintage Bracelets

One of my favorite things about vintage and thrift is the ability to find clothes that are beautifully constructed out of the best fabrics (designer or not) at a fraction of the price. Whether I'm shopping new or old, the material and construction are some key decision makers for me. If it doesn't feel, fit, stretch the way you want then it's not worth it!

During my last venture to the Hamptons, I found this linen MaxMara blazer at Collette Consignment for $100! The linen is so soft, and I love the slouchiness of the fit. A timeless summer piece, this blazer takes me everywhere from this white suit getup to my favorite cutoffs. Summer isn't over yet so keep those whites, linens, and silkies nearby! And always remember, when in doubt, all white keeps you minimal, chic, and flawless.

Très Bien

CHRLDR Tee / JCrew Shorts (similar) / Sam Edelman Booties / Vintage RayBans

Très bien, et vous? This outfit sums up a few of my favorite essentials: a graphic tee, structured black short, leopard booties, and wayfarers (preferably vintage!) I hold these RayBans near and dear to my heart as they are my late grandfather's from the 1950s when RayBan first launched the infamous classics. I love the oversized shape and slight tilt that gives them a bit of differentiation from the modern design. Start with the Bans or any of the other essentials for a solid foundation to your wardrobe. Easy, breezy, and à la mode (without the ice cream).

A Little Up, A Little Down

H&M tee (similar) / SEA skirt (similar) / ZARA pumps/ Fossil watch (similar) / Vintage bracelets

I might be beating a dead horse, but I can never get enough of mixing up my style. I can go full tomboy and full girly, but my favorite place is somewhere in the middle. A little uptown-- pleated "school girlish" skirt and sexy, sky-high pointed pump paired with a little downtown-- oversized, graphic tee and heavy metal watch. The perfect middle ground. Try pairing one of your more casual tops with elevated bottoms or vice versa for a nice mix of girly/tomboy, uptown/downtown.

City Stomping

[gallery type="rectangular" ids="1625,1616,1620,1623,1622,1617,1618"]

Xhiliration Crop Top / Free People Skirt / Frye Boots / Vintage Bracelets

As you've probably noticed, I love mixing silhouettes and styling vibes. I'm all about that juxtaposition. This outfit is the perfect example of the mix of soft and hard, country and urban, sweet and tough. The classic bustier shape of the crop top, the cascading skirt, and moto boots clash just enough to make it cool. And the bit of Free People outfit elements against the urban landscape makes for an unexpected and fresh outfit for your next city stomp. Have a fab weekend and TGIF.

Last Friday Night

Eleven Paris Tee / Gryphon Skirt (similar) / Prabal Gurung Heels / Forever 21 Ring (similar)

It's 10 pm on Friday and you're standing, staring blankly at your closet... If you're anything like me, I often find it challenging to find a "going out" outfit that feels sexy without the slutty. Skip the bandage skirts and stripper heels, and switch to a cooler, rocker feel. By pairing a casual, graphic tee with a sequin skirt and strappy heels, you instantly get that model-off-duty, partying in Meatpacking vibe. Mix it up for your next Friday night and hit the town channeling your inner Kate Moss.

Canadian Tux

Iro Denim Shirt (similar)/ By Corpus Romper (similar)/ Madewell Sandals / Jules Smith Choker

Good news, I'm still here. After three weeks of apartment searching, moving A LOT of clothes and shoes, I'm back in action just in time for casual Friday. Today's choice: the infamous "Canadian Tuxedo". Sworn a has been of the nineties (the era I also happen to be fully invested in lately), I think this tux is a nice update to what could've been a full on blast from the past.

I fell in love with this Iro denim shirt the moment I spotted it. Boxy, faded, with leather piping detail and a nod to western, what more was there to love? Paired with a scalloped, denim romper that I snagged at Urban Outfitters for a whopping $5 in their clearance section, I'm calling this one a winner. TGIF and have a fab weekend!

Sunshine and Flamingos

[gallery type="rectangular" ids="1555,1557,1556,1565"]

Wildfox Swimsuit / Vintage Sunnies (similar)

There's something about summertime that just livens everyone's spirits. Whether it's the extra dose of vitamin d or the excuse to wear denim cutoffs everyday, you can tell the people in the streets (or the beach for that matter) are happier.

With summer comes the search for that perfect, new bathingsuit. I always gravitate towards high-waisted bikinis, but recently, I have been on the look out for an amazing one piece.  This flamingo number by Wildfox instantly spoke to me. It's fun, quirky, summery, and puts a smile on your face. After Wildfox's show at Miami Swim Week yesterday, I can't wait to see what's in the next batch, too!

The Hunt

IMG_0021

I bet you've been wondering where I've been? Apartment hunting in NYC... When I moved into the city a year ago, my roommate was a real estate broker so I didn't have to do anything. People had warned me what it was like to look alone, but little did I know what I was about to get into. Just cancel your entire social calendar or any after-work relaxation. Also if you need to switch up your workout plan, searching for apartments in New York is the way to go. I've walked down every street in the East Village about a million times over and walked at least 50 flights of stairs to boot. After two and half weeks on what I like to call "the hunt", I finally found my perfect, new home right on the cusp of the East Village and Lower East Side. I cannot wait to fully indulge in (most importantly) some epic vintage shopping, delicious restaurants at just about every corner, and the mad night life. Another new chapter for A Vintage Vice.

Coming soon, a look inside the Beyonce and JayZ On The Run tour at MetLife Stadium.

Patricia Field Vintage: Jersey / Tommy Shorts / Nike Shoes Patricia Field Original: Cuff and Spike Ring

There’s no denying the whole sport trend sticking around, and I’m all in. I loved rocking this jersey (which also kept me cool in the million degree weather) with a cleaner pair of rolled denim shorts.   These Nike tennies paired with spikey silver jewelry give it a bit of a downtown, street feel. Put it all together, and it feels fresh and a bit unexpected. Shop it all at Patricia Field today!

Patricia Field Vintage: Black Tank / Theory Linen Pants / (my own) Tibi Mules

You know the feeling when you try on about 5-10 different outfits, clothes are all over your room, and you think “I have a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear!” On these special days, I always go back to the minimalistic side of myself. White linen pants are my are a summer favorite and paired with a classic (and super soft) black tank, the whole thing comes out clean and elevated. Shop it now in Patricia Field’s vintage section!

Patricia Field's Everlast

Patricia Field Vintage: Hockey Jacket / Everlast Tank / Mom Jeans / (my own) Calvin Klein Pumps

When you first walk into Patricia Field, there’s a crazy array of spikey jewelry, Coca Cola bottle purses, quirky sunglasses, and sequined clothing. An editorial stylist’s dream. I had always heard of this infamous store, so I was even more surprised when I walked through and discovered an epic vintage section. I got my Sail Away with Me romper, Color Me Kelly Ripa dress, and my favorite denim jacket seen here and here all for around $40 each! I hadn’t been back in a hot minute and was excited to find out there was a whole slew of new vintage just in! As you can tell, I found some gems.

This might be one of my favorite outfits I’ve shot so far. There’s something a very "cool girl” about it. Sporty but casual with a little sass. I love how each piece juxtaposes the other-- a tight tank and mom jeans, a hockey jacket and pumps. Dare to branch out and mix things up. Shop this look at more at Pat's Store (details below)!

20s Drop Me

Shareen Vintage Dress / Prabal Gurung for Target Sandals

Throw on some Frank Sinatra and I'm ready to be in full swing. I loved the very 20s silhouette of this dress with the drop waist and the pleated skirt. I'm a sucker for a shifty "sack dress" if you will, and the little details and impeccable tailoring made it that much better. A great vintage look to take you from work to your favorite speakeasy on the LES.
