I Am Woman

I'm typically a tomboy at heart, but everyone once in a while I like to feel pretty :) In my personal opinion, there's nothing quite as "womanly" as a low-slung, cut-on-the-bias skirt that hugs your hips just so and flows perfectly when it catches the breeze. By Malene Birger or MBM as I like to call it makes a beautiful skirt that is just that in a delicious creamy color with a touch of textured detail. In true natural form, I paired the skirt with equally neutral colors. A flowy but sculpted button down layered over a ribbed sweater continues to add different levels of texture and tonal colors. Finished with the most amazing block heel mules and a good cup of tea, it was a wonderfully girly day.

A Softer Side

You may not have guessed that there’s a softer side to overalls, but I’m here to tell you there is! While sometimes my styling airs more towards a tomboy personality, there are flecks of femininity that I love to play up on occasion. Taking overalls and turning them into a surprisingly girly look is just the thing. By pairing this delicate “lacey” white top and sky high 70s platforms, a new element is brought to the overall: a sweeter side with a touch of vintage flair. A Little Up, A Little Down

I might be beating a dead horse, but I can never get enough of mixing up my style. I can go full tomboy and full girly, but my favorite place is somewhere in the middle. A little uptown-- pleated "school girlish" skirt and sexy, sky-high pointed pump paired with a little downtown-- oversized, graphic tee and heavy metal watch. The perfect middle ground. Try pairing one of your more casual tops with elevated bottoms or vice versa for a nice mix of girly/tomboy, uptown/downtown.
