Dahlia Lace Dress (similar (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) / Bertie Gavino Platforms (similar) / Jules Smith Choker / Vintage Rings
One of my favorite things about summertime is the ability to just throw on a dainty white dress and instantly look chic. Whether you keep it minimal, dress it up or down, easy breezy dresses (especially lace ones) are a key summer staple. I found this dress during my first trip to Topshop in London in 2011. Since then, it has been my ultimate go-to when I have a closet full of clothes and "nothing to wear". Check out the links above to find yours!

Patricia Field Vintage Dress (similar) / Gianni Bini Heels (similar) / Jules Smith Choker
The Hamptons can be such a great people watching town... you never know who you will see. The first time I went I almost walked into Stanley Tucci and spotted Barbara Walters brunching. This year, it was Kelly Ripa. We were shooting along this little sidewalk and she walks right on by with the fam. Just as beautiful in person.
But anyways, to clothes. I snagged this number at Patricia Field's during the same shopping trip for the polkadot romper and the 80s jean jacket. Such epic finds there! I love the silhouette of this dress. It's so flattering for various shapes and sizes, and the colors are perfect for summer! This would be a great outfit for any summer event or a BBQ in the Hamptons perhaps ;)

By Corpus Shirt (this or this)/ "Handmade" Cutoffs (or this) / Timex Watch / Birkenstocks
Yup. Birks are back. AKA. The originator of the "fugly sandal". Good news is that we're sporting them in fresher ways that exclude anything to do with cargo shorts and bootcut jeans-- middle school anyone? I don't mind the thong Birkenstocks but the Arizona Two Straps are my favs (especially in white)! They are the perfect summer shoe to pair with any breezy dress or your favorite cutoffs and striped tee, my ultimate go-to. One thing I love is how they can really juxtapose your outfit. Making girly dresses a bit more tomboy and short shorts a bit more casual (and without any exposure please :))

PS: These shorts are another Goodwill snag created from boy's jeans! If you have a smaller waist, the boys section is always great because the jeans end up high-waisted and loose in the thigh. Thinking a tutorial is needed for the next pair!

J.Crew Printed Top and Jeans / Gap Smoking Flatsd (similar)
An oldie but a goodie, pairing printed separates is a fun and unexpected way to mix up your daily wardrobe. I fell in love with this trend last summer and still love it today! It may be a bit daunting at first, but pair it with a subtle confidence (and solid/neutral accessories) and you'll be on your way!

Happy almost Memorial Day where white cotton dresses and jean jackets rule the land. The two just so happen to pair perfectly together, too! I decided to "Brooklyn-up" this outfit a bit by adding my favorite black ankle boots and layer some mixed metal arm candy. Easy makeup and tousled hair will have you ready to go no matter what your plans! I don't know about you, but I am ready to soak up the sun! Is it Friday yet?

Shop The Similars: Vintage Mens Button Down / Forever 21 Denim Vest / Anthropologie Pants / Prabal Gurung for Target Heels / Forever 21 Cuff / Vintage, Handmade, and UO Rings
I'm not gonna lie... I originally got this button down at Goodwill to wear for Halloween dressed as the typical "Risky Business" character. But as it hung in my closet, I wanted to challenge myself to somehow incorporate it into my actual wardrobe. On the hanger, it looks like a sack of potatoes. But add a cool denim vest and you've made it a step closer to that casual, French, tomboy kinda feel. You can pair this shirt/vest combo more simply with a great pair of black skinnies. Or have a bit of fun with it and wear a patterned pant and colored heel, channeling your inner fashionista. No matter which way you wear it, you'll be the envy on the street. TGIF.

The "pop art" trend is such a fun one to incorporate into your spring/summer wardrobe. Whether you bring hints of it in accessories like I did in Girly Tomboy or in a full outfit like above, the prints and bright colors are bound to put a spring in your step! This outfit is also a great example of how fashion can reflect your personality and/or affect your mood. I was very tired the morning this was shot, and as you can tell, this outfit paired with the Wonka-like sunglasses brought me back to life! Live. Love. Fashion. ;)

similar Vintage Fringe Leather Jacket / similar LOFT dress / similar Zara booties / Vintage, Handmade, UO Rings
Needless to say since I first posted about the rise of western (via the Chanel show of course), fringe has been cropping up more and more. When I spotted this vintage fringe jacket at the Brooklyn Flea Market, I knew I had to have it! Not to mention most current jackets like this can run anywhere from $200-$1800, and mine only set me back $80! The white color keeps it fresh and allows me to pair it with anything from a shifty, knit dress to your favorite cutoffs and a tee. Whether you live or are visiting Manhattan, visiting Joan Van Hees Vintage booth at the Brooklyn Flea is worth the trip!

Tennis Sweater Twirl AKA Granny Chic AKA Headed to the Hamptons. Whatever I'm calling this outfit, it's fun, quirky, and vintage street style. I love mixing prints and colors that may seem a little off at first and then just grow on you. I discovered this sweater vest, yet again, in my mother's closet-- just another reason for your to go raid yours! The subtle print has a nod to the athletic inspired trend I love to work. I would also pair this sweater with high-waist skinny jeans or over a shifty slip dress in a very mod fashion.
ALSO NOTE: Everything purchased in this outfit is under $40! Being a bargain shopper most of my life has given me this little knack for being able to monetize every outfit I wear! I also try and link to similar price points so that you can snag some fashion finds for yourself! Hope this post is a fun start to your Friday!

Vintage Jacket (similar) / Vintage Button Down (similar) / J.Crew Tee / Homemade Cutoffs / Converse / Vintage and Handmade Rings
Casual cool-- this outfit highlights exactly what I've been into these days. Working in NYC can be exhausting and all I want to reach for in the morning is the comfiest thing I can find. But even if you work in the corporate world, you can totally rock a look like this on the weekends or at a casual "pint night" during the week. This grey suede is one of my favorite transitional jackets and yet another gem discovered in my mother's closet circa 1980. It works perfectly for this time of year when "it's not too hot, not too cold. All you need is a light jacket" alla Miss Congeniality. These shorts may not be as vintage as the jacket, but they are made out the bootcut jeans I wore in middle school... was the tallest girl in my grade those days. The key is finding a pair that isn't too tight in the thigh. Once you find 'em, take the denim to some scissors, the pavement, and voila: vintage-esque cutoffs.
