We all know I'm a sucker for anything 90s. Cropped, denim, any type of onesie? Make it a full on affair. While sometimes I go for a full on 90s look with no shame, I like to "cool it up" a bit by adding other silhouettes and elements in the outfit. The main element I added to the 90s inspo of this look was a sporty, rugby vibe alla Alex Wang spring 2010. A thick, rugby stripe and full-on lace up sandals with a deconstructed skate/cleat quality add an unexpected flair to the 90s silhouette of the "skortall" and cropped sweater. It's P.J. day in a new way. Wear your bodysuit out in public?! I've got the one. This Morgan Lane bodysuit is the perfect piece to spice up your look at home and while hitting the streets. With a bra underneath of course, you can pair this bodysuit with your favorite denim cutoffs or boyfriend jeans to bring the look a bit more down to earth. A classic black boot (with a bit of heel to lengthen the leg) and layering rings and you're on your way a look that's equal parts sexy and casual.

I love me some overalls. From early workwear to 70s hippie to 90s grunge, they've been around, each time with a bit of tweak in style. Today, combining different shapes, washes, and details have made their comeback that much better. This pair by Blank NYC is one of my favorites. I love to style them either very minimal with a button down or fitted tee, or like above, a bit more cozy, layered, and fall-inspired. No matter which way your look goes, overalls should be on the top of your fall essentials.

Lost in the West Village

I still remember my first time in the West Village. The first weekend of my first internship in New York City I found myself wandering through the West Village for four hours. I maybe went into two stores and left quickly, not in the mood to shop?! That is the effect this neighborhood has on you. All you want to do is explore, marvel at gorgeous brownstones and the leafy, green trees. Little coffeeshops, eateries, hole-in-the-wall bars and jazz clubs give it extra character that make it that much more magnificent. The backdrop for my shoot above, I urge you the next time you are in NYC to get lost in the West Village. You won't regret it :)

There's something about throwing on a bunch of chains that gets you feeling tough. I'm not always huge on jewelry but when I do wear it, I keep it really minimal or layer a lot of smaller pieces for a larger impact like above. I love to mix metals, too. Gold (always), rose gold, and silver together makes it multidimensional and the eye curious.

Some of the best jewelry pieces and closet essentials can be found at flea markets, thrift stores, and grandparents' closets. All of my chains are my grandpa's and grandma's, I scored my button down at the Brooklyn Flea Market for $10, and I made my shorts from boys jeans at Goodwill for $3.75. Talk about a deal breaker. If you're more of an onliner, Etsy is a vintage and secondhand haven. All of these bargains paired with a delicate bra and perfect black boots make for an downtown, "coolgirl" result.

Happy almost Memorial Day where white cotton dresses and jean jackets rule the land. The two just so happen to pair perfectly together, too! I decided to "Brooklyn-up" this outfit a bit by adding my favorite black ankle boots and layer some mixed metal arm candy. Easy makeup and tousled hair will have you ready to go no matter what your plans! I don't know about you, but I am ready to soak up the sun! Is it Friday yet?
