Rodebjer Caftan and Tote (similar) / Splendid Espadrilles / Pared Sunnies

When heading on vacay, the throw-on-wherever-you-are dress is an absolute necessity for me. You can probably relate. Half of the time I pack all these outfits and end up wearing the same few things the whole time. Whether it’s a shirtdress, slipdress, or caftan, having a relaxing vacation includes being comfortable while you’re there. My current beach town essential is the caftan (in true oversized-lover form). This one in particular by favorite Rodebjer is perfect to toss on for a trip to the market or ending the day from the beach to the bar.  I paired mine with a neutral striped espadrille, woven tote, and Joy-inspired sunnies. 70s babe dreams forever. You know the deal --> links above, shop now, etc.

Solid + Striped One Piece / Garrett Leight Sunnies

I’m deeming this week “San Diego Week” as I give you guys an inside look at some of my favorite OOTDs from my trip last month and must-see spots if you’re looking to visit. I may be a March baby but I live for sunshine and summer. San Diego was channeling every bit of it. Suburban but quaint, the colors of the buildings, the cliffs on the beach, and the plants… I have this thing with them and they were unlike anything I've ever seen! The weather had me seriously ready for summer and in real denial when I landed back on the East Coast.

I was utterly obsessed with this area of San Diego called La Jolla. Such a beach town and the views were breathtaking. Near the spot where this was shot was the most beautiful parks, trees, and a beach full of seals. They smelled horrible but were such a sight.

Sea mammals aside, it’s only fitting that I start with my favorite suit of the trip on the cliffs of La Jolla. We all know I’m a sucker for one pieces and I loved the clean lines coupled with the plunging neckline and strap detail on this Solid + Striped gem. Perfect for us less-endowed ladies, this suit ups the sex appeal while still being classic (and classy for that matter). Add this one piece + La Jolla to your list for your next San Diego getaway.

With the announcement of Hedi Slimane's departure from the iconic Saint Laurent, I only found it fitting to pay homage to the rock & roll kingdom he created. Apiece Apart Coat / AMO Denim Jacket and Relaxed Skinnies / Ribbed Turtleneck / Aldo Booties (similar)/ Vintage Sunnies (similar)

One area of my closet that I am always trying to improve is the section of essentials. Each season, I find a new item that needs refreshing or a new style that I repeatedly find myself reaching for.  I've rounded up my current essential improvements into one killer look.

·       Clean Coat - No matter the season, a clean coat can instantly lift a look. I loved the lightweight nature and simplistic design behind this one by Apiece Apart. It "chics-up" just about everything I pair it with making it a perfect closet essential (especially the days you don't want to put too much thought into your look). Throw it on top and you're done.

·       Denim Jacket - We all know I'm a denim whore and 90s lover, so the denim jacket is always a staple in my closet. I probably have about 7-8 of them and can always find the right wash/silhouette/detail that I'm looking for. This gem by favorite AMO denim is the quintessential blue and perfect fitted shape.

·       Relaxed Jeans - Perfect for those rainy, PMS-ing, or anti-anything-tight days, a relaxed-fit jean is ALL I've been wearing lately. It's easy, comfy, and I can wear from running around on set straight to the bar for happy hour.

·       Turtleneck - I’ve talked enough about this one. #minimalismforever

·       Point Toe Bootie - If you’re vertically challenged like me (or not), the point toe bootie is an instant leg-lengthener. Constantly on refresh in my closet (mostly because I’ve completely demolished the last pair by wearing them 500 times), they go with just about everything! If they have a bit of a heel, even better. I’m not usually a big patent person but since Dior brought out those patent/Lucite booties, I’ve been gravitating more and more to it (And they repel water better than normal leather as an added bonus!) This pair by Aldo caught my eye and you can shop similar styles in the links above.

·       Unique Sunnies – Last, but not least a great pair of sunglasses that have a bit of quirk to them can always add depth to a look. These are one of my favorites scored at the Brooklyn Flea Market for a mere $30. So Amy Adams in American Hustle, am I right? Having a fun pair to throw on with a minimal look to spice it up or add to an all out 70s disco vibe is everything.

Check out the links above to get my wardrobe essentials and even better, add them all together for a great outfit in a snap.

Won Hundred Top and Skirt / Grenson Loafer / OneSixOne Clutch / Pared Sunnies

Since moving to New York just three years ago, black ws the first "color" that became a big part of my wardrobe. Next was neutrals. Camels, taupes, pale pinks, caramels, and everything everything in between became all that I was craving. Perhaps it was their rise in the runways or just the fact that any look centered around neutrals is instantly 10 times chicer then the outfit next to it. I love mixing nudes with denim or as a head to toe look like I did here. Danish favorite, Won Hundred, is always a sure fit for chic minimalism. I paired this clean Kimono-inspired silk top with an asymmetrical midi skirt and equally structural clutch. To mix it up a bit I added my favorite chunky, tassel loafers and oversized sunnies. The whole look is completely neutral, characterized by clean lines and with a few fun bits thrown in. Shop the links above to get my look and add these neutral tones to your transitional spring palette.

Happy 2 Year Anni

PRESS PLAY

I can't believe it's already been two years still I started this little nugget. I cannot thank YOU enough. My readers, my followers, my cheerleaders, I would not be where I am today with out you! Special thanks to my family, friends, brand collaborators and photographers for believing in this crazy fashion lady who just wants to create beautiful art and shine light on what this industry is all about. This past year has been a whirlwind of inspirations, mentoring, job changes, and creative development that has shaped me into a better stylist, blogger, and person all around. Thank you AGAIN from the bottom of my heart. To another year full of vintage vices and many more.

AMO Denim Jacket / Halston Sweater / Markoo Leather Skirt (similar or here)/ Falke Tights / Jeffrey Campbell Shoes / Cambridge Satchel Bag

I'm typically torn between the 70s or the 90s being my favorite throwback era and times that my looks are often inspired by (or purchased from). But lately, I have found myself drawn to that mid-sixties Twiggy vibe that has you feeling like the coolest Londoner in the room. Mini + turtleneck + square toe bootie = hello Lesley Lawson. I loved the button detailing and stiff leather on this mini by new brand discovery, Markoo. I combined it with my current addiction, turtlenecks, but one with a unique cutout neckline and bell sleeve (a bit of 70s snuck in there with disco favorite Halston). Finished with a classic denim jacket, oxford inspired bootie, and briefcase-like satchel, I successfully achieve that quintessential 60s supermodel look. Shop the links above to add a bit of Twiggy into your 2016 wardrobe.

Jill Stuart Tunic / Veda Dress / Diesel Jacket / Sigerson Morrison Boots / A Peace Treaty Choker

I'm always looking for new ways to layer. With trends moving away from the "streetstyle" we all expect and towards a chicer more minimal air, it's forcing us to take something very simple and make it our own. Insert an experimental play with layering. I added a straight-line leather tunic over this breezy crepe dress. The lines still maintain that minimal feel but the different structure and materials begin that "making it my own" element. I added some fun fringe boots, gold detail choker, and slouchy boyfriend jacket to give it an easier, rocker feel that ultimately feels like me :)

Won Hundred Coat, Shirt (or here), Pant / Grenson Oxford / Cambridge Satchel Bag

I think I've always had a little tomboy in me since age 6 (envision oversized tshirts, soccer shorts, and Adidas slides). So it comes as no surprise that ever since menswears became a thing, I've been drawn to it. The comfort and ease contrasted with strong design and attention to detail makes for a perfect dressing equation. I mixed women's and men's pieces from Won Hundred to create this "borrowed from the boys" NYFW look. And you can't truly have that menswear look without an impeccably structured bag. I found my closet lacking that perfect black bag and Cambridge Satchel came to the rescue with customization that aired on Vuitton rather than Pulitzer (thank god).

Last but not least, I wouldn't be the menswear-loving shoe whore I am without having an affair with a Brit shoe brand whose roots date back to 1866. UK original, Grenson, has been a long time favorite of mine, crafting the most beautiful leather shoes (with amazing platforms I might add) for 150 years. I was able to get a first hand look at their first overseas shop that's nestled on one of my favorite streets in one of the best neighborhoods in NYC, Elizabeth Street, SoHo. The shop's pristine architecture and design mirrors its product in the most fitting way. Sleek wood panels, industrial notes, and a smoky but beautiful scent welcomes you into a room full of hand-crafted oxfords, loafers, and boots. Need I say more? Click here to see more on the shop and click the links above to get my menswear inspired look!

Ganni Bomber and Blouse / Awoke Vintage Leather Dress (similar or here) / Falke Tights / Miista Boots / Aldo Backpack / Alibi Earring / Pared Sunnies

The Outfit.
Still sifting thru photos of copious street style outfits as Paris Fashion Week slowly comes to a close.... Though I didn't make it this year to that beautiful city, I still managed to have a bit of fun with my looks during NYFW. This one included. Famous for their reworked leather, Awoke Vintage churned out this leather "overall dress" that was basically needs to worn immediately by Alexa Chung. (Am I right?!) Needless to say, I knew I needed it the moment I saw it. But what to pair with it? A stray away from the typical neutral, I played with patterns in my favorite color (besides black, white, grey and beige of course), blue. A thin striped blouse against a shiny, silky, floral printed bomber were just the additions that this dress needed to be taken to the next level.

The Shoe.
Nothing goes with a mini more than pointy-ass boots. These things are leathal and lovely. The pebbled and somewhat metallic nature on these Miista booties are everything I'm looking for in a cool shoe that takes you thru every season seamlessly. Leg-elongating, man-repelling, and easy on the eyes? I'll take 'em.

The Bag.
While we like to look at most FW images and think that the fashionistas are running thru these crazy days with nothing more than a matchbox sized clutch.... don't forget their Escalades parked around the corner holding the contents of the rest of their purses. For us NY ladies who don't have the luxury and/or who value the (usual) timeliness and savings of the Subway, we get resourceful with our carryalls. Insert, the backpack. While I love a good old school Jansport, the backpack made a comeback in the streetstyle scene a few years ago in a much chicer and elevated form. I love how this Aldo one is super structured, minimal, and black of course. I can virtually wear it with anything and it fits just about everything from an extra pair of sneaks to dry shampoo.

The Accessories.
Last but not least, those little pieces that add the perfect final touch. I typically neglect the jewelry area as a bit of minimalist but these earrings could not not be worn. They're the kind of earring that you wear while Stairway to Heaven plays in the background of your entrance. And paired with some wild cheetah, flat-top sunnies, I was airing on the edge of feeling like a total rockstar.

Welp. I just gave you my life story into that look. It was a favorite and I hope you enjoyed it, too :) Shop the links til you drop, ladies. Shop til you drop.

Awoke Vintage Jacket (similar or here) / coming soon Apiece Apart Jumpsuit (similar) / Vince Turtleneck / Steve Madden Lace Ups / Zac Zac Posen Bag / A Peace Treaty Earring

Forever a lover of comfort, I fully embraced leisurewear as an acceptable trend from the very beginning. Knitwear, PJ dressing, you name it, this is a trend that continues to evolve and finally brings a rebuttal to the whole "beauty is pain" thing.

I didn't quite expect my first look for NYFW to be this easy, but due to some serious insomnia issues, the jumpsuit was the first thing I reached for! I layered this knit onesie over a turtleneck (for warmth) and also added depth to the look. I became overly obsessed with this robe coat when spotted it inside Williamsburg's Awoke Vintage. I instantly had flashbacks of late 80s, early 90s vibes with the amazing shape and texture of the topper. Tonal and minimal all the way, accessories included a simple suede, lace-up shoe, structural pale orange crossbody, and delicate gold earrings.

My goal most days is to achieve an outfit that looks good and also feels good! Cozy fabrics and easy silhouettes resulted in a casual, cool look that streetstyle photographers were chasing for. Check out the links above to get the look and happy cozying.

Rodebjer Jacket & Pants / Awoke Vintage Mockneck (similar) / Matt Bernson Flats / Zac Zac Posen Bag (or here)/ Super Sunglasses / Alibi Ear Chain

After discovering Rodebjer during my time at Shopbop, I've been head over heels in love with the brand. Ever-evolving but rooted in it's ease and leisure, designer Carin Rodebjer has beautifully crafted a modern line with silhouettes that women want to wear everyday.

A sucker for breezy pants, I was immediately drawn to these trousers with a springy but not overly floral print. I contrasted the slinky quality of the trousers by pairing them with a structured topper and turtleneck with metallic sheen. Keeping that minimalist but quirky feel, I accessorized the look with stark-white flats, mirrored sunnies, geometric crossbody and a sleek chain earring. Shop the links above and click HERE for a closer look at Rodebjer.

Garrett Leight Sunnies

...Having this out of body experience as I write this post after immediately arriving back from sunny San Diego!! Regardless, I wanted you guys to get a closer look at ALL of my NYFW looks, even if a bit late! The amazing Veronica from Amarcord pointed out The Revenant nature of this Issey Miyake coat...making it that much better, I might add! The oversized quality, the contrast of the fur and the corduroy, the zipper detail, the list goes on! I paired the Leo-inspired coat (congrats Leo) over a midi-length, ribbed, knit dress.... you know my obsession with knit so that's that. Finishing touches include more texture contrasts but tonal color palette. Snakeskin chelsea boots are my new "go-to" and a leather statement clutch from favorite, Clare V. Shop the links above to get the look and stay tuned this week for the rest of my NYFW looks... I promise!

One of my favorite looks from NYFW, I decided to deem this one "Ricky Bobby". The red stripe..the leather jacket...I couldn't resist. Sporty meets Rocker (my two favorites). I paired this top and bottom combo from Ganni (coming soon!) with an amazing reconstructed, red leather jacket from vintage favorite, Awoke Vintage. Top it off with this epic deconstructed tweed jacket with fringe, stripe, and pins. I mean does it get more 90s than that? Finishing touches came with a calfhair & studded detail leather messenger (also from my <3 Amarcord Vintage), lightening bolt earrings, and some schmancy white and silver loafers. Shake. And Bake.

Amarcord Vintage: Gianfranco Ferre Jacket (similar)/ FindersKeepers Dress & Pant / Matt Bernson Loafer / Dannijo Earring, Ear Cuffs, and Ring (coming soon)

Look 2 from NYFW. I fell in love with this Gianfranco Ferre jacket while scouring the aisles of Amarcord Vintage, the location where my vice for vintage truly began just six years ago. Building my look out from this jacket, I knew I wanted to keep it clean and structural but with little notes of uniqueness. Black dress over black trousers and a contrast loafer kept the outfit chic with a bit of quirky. I finished it off with heavier metal bling by the ever-amazing girls of Dannijo. Architectural designs but with a vintage feel blended these jewelry pieces seamlessly into my look. Shop the links above and keep an eye out for a closer look at other NYFW outfits.
